Paul Hayden, a Crystal Lake resident and World War II veteran who died in 2006 at the age of 82, was honored posthumously with the high school diploma he never received. His 91-year-old wife, Margaret Hayden, and his four children accepted the diploma on his behalf as a part of Operation Recognition at the Crystal Lake South commencement ceremony May 28, 2016.
