First grade student Joey Tunzi, 7, jumps from side-to-side around a jumprope with classmates during a heart healthy event, benefitting the American Heart Association, at May Chesak Elementary School on Thursday, March 7, 2019 in Lake in the Hills. Approximately 740 students participated in Thursday and Friday's event, jumping rope to music and a video slideshow of people affected by heart disease. Students at the school have raised over $19,000 this year. Last year the school raised $37,760 and ranked 13th in the nation, but more than $600,000 has been raised total since the school started participating in 2001.
