Jenson has lived in his house for approximately 40 years and recalls five other times when he has needed to sandbag his property, including roughly this time last year. Jenson, 72, has seen enough flooding along the Fox River over the years. "These sandbags aren't getting any lighter," he said.

The sandbags were delivered at around 3 am, after the worst part of the flooding on Willow Street, which occurred around 4 to 10pm, according to residents. Barnes, Sloan, Mark Korczyk, and Gary Jenson helped each other grab sandbags for any upcoming surprise storms. The neighbors realized that other residents were in more immediate danger of flooding and were happy to have the sandbags, despite arriving after the worst part.

Water partially covers a manhole in the lawn at the intersection of Cumberland and Glacier Parkways on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 in Algonquin. Residents attributed the higher altitude flooding in their neighborhood to a shutoff valve regulating drainage into the Fox River which closed, backing up water into the roadway and some basements.
