Fifteen-year-old Luke Knutson dressed as Donal Trump and his 10-year-old sister Jill dressed as Hillary Clinton make an appearance for the spectators of the  32nd annual America’s Cardboard Cup Regatta June 18 at the Crystal Lake Park District’s Main Beach. Luke Knutson later competed with his 13-brother Max dressed as Bernie Sanders.

Cary neighbors Joe Riegle and Chambers named their boat Silvertree for the street they both live on. “One of these days we plan to actually brew beer together,” Riegle said.

Heather Killian of Northbrook, 10-year-old Kane Swisher of Crystal Lake and Kelly Wilson of Des Plaines take off at the start of the 32nd annual America’s Cardboard Cup Regatta June 18 at the Crystal Lake Park District’s Main Beach. Killian has competed for 16 years in the regatta although this is first year she participated without her children. “My kids asked me ‘why are you doing this?’ and I told them, ‘hey I have to live!’”
