Mireya Lira of Crystal Lake checks her phone as she heads to her car through the early evening twilight and holiday lights still adorning trees on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2020 in Crystal Lake. The National Weather Service listed a high of 32 degrees with a low of 26 degrees with a chance of more flurries on Friday. "It's not too bad," Lira said of the weather. "It's been kind of cold. For Crystal Lake, I'm not surprised." Having lived in Crystal Lake most of her life, Lira is used to the colder temperatures and actually prefers it. "You're never too old to go sledding," she said with a laugh, saying that one of her favorite things to do in winter is to go to the many sled hills in the area with her siblings.
