For the past 12 years Cook has been making handmade walking sticks for cancer patients at local hospitals, for wounded veterans, and for strangers who he meets and need support. Cook is batteling neck cancer and has survived two heart attacks and the amputation of several toes and finds making the walking sticks as physical and mental therapy. Cook is a veteran and L.I.T.H. American Legion Member.
