Charles Hightower of Rockton appears in court with Judge Robert Wilbrandt on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2020 in Woodstock. The former D-47 elementary school teacher is facing trial, charged with attempted murder for the Oct. 24, 2019 stabbings of three people, which Hightower alleges was done in self defense after being jumped by three people at a bonfire on Edgewood Drive in Crystal Lake.
