Alan Hopkins (left) and his wife, Gail Hopkins, pose for a portrait in front of the house they lived in on Union Street in the Colby subdivision in Crystal Lake when a devastating tornado swept through Crystal Lake 50 years ago in April of 1965. The Hopkins were out of town at the time of the tornado.
