Michael Cieslak, 15, edges past Brian McWhorter, 30, both of Island lake, during the 25-meter race at the 8th annual Run and Roll at McCracken Field in McHenry, Ill. on Saturday, May 30, 2015. The Run and Roll is a track meet for people with physical or visual disabilities. It now serves as a qualifier for National Junior Disability Championships and attracts Paralympics hopefuls as well as those new to adaptive sports. The meet was started by Ben Spengel, now 16, and a sophomore in high school, who has cerebral palsy and was looking for a way that he could compete in sports with others like him. The event is hosted by Northern Illinois Special Recreation Association (NISRA), Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association (GLASA) and Main Stay Therapeutic Riding Center. It also serves as a fundraiser for Spengel's sled hockey team, GLASA Falcons.
