Bill Buck poses for a portrait at his Algonquin home with a framed flag he received in honor of his father, a police officer in Chicago, who died in a car accident while on duty in 1941. At the time of his father's death there was no Gold Star Families Memorial wall, but since it was erected, Buck has been making efforts to get his father's name on it. After his trip to the library, Buck was able to get the information he needed to make it happen. His father was honored along with three others on July 30, and his name was added to the wall.
