Fire Bar co-owner brothers Nino (left) and Sarge Hermes have been vocal proponents for establishing video gambling in Crystal Lake. On Tuesday, April 5, the Crystal Lake City Council reversed its ban on video gambling, approving a more restrictive ordinance that would allow certain local businesses to have the machines. Restrictions under the ordinance include a limit of three machines – state law allows for five – and no signage visible from the outside that advertises video gambling.
